The following is a list of rules for the IC (In Character) section of the forum. Please read the entire list, and if you are unsure of a specific rule, feel free to PM a staff member and they will explain it better. Rule updates will occasionally be posted, so please check them when they appear. Be aware that the staff and I have the right to ban anyone who repeatedly attempts to violate these rules.
- No 'god modding' or 'powerplaying'. Here is an example of this:
"Blue lurched at Shadow and bit hard into his soft throat.”
Notice that the player of Shadow gets no chance of getting out of the way? Here is another example:
“Firetail pounced on the lone wolfess, Berry, and pinned her to the wet ground.”
The player of Berry can not dodge or do anything to stop Firetail's attack. This is what god modding and powerplaying are: you post a player's reaction for them. Let them post a reaction to whatever you do. God modding can only be allowed with the other player’s permission. The is one of the most important rules of the RP, so please try to follow it as best as you can. - Your character(s) can only be in one thread at a time.
- Fighting is allowed, but as above, no powerplaying. The two players with the fighting characters have to decide who wins or loses (if the fight does not break off before that stage), and if the two RPers cannot do it, the staff will step in and decide. Before or at any point during the fight, you may ask for the staff to step in and judge.
- This is a semi-realistic roleplay, so try to be realistic. This means we will not allow any sort of odd mutations or wings. However, since some mutations have occured, odd colors such as green and blue are allowed in markings. Hyper -Wolves are not allowed to have their entire fur color an unrealistic color. Shamans can put certain colored markings on Hyper-Wolves that they were not born with.
- Stay true to the settings and seasons of the RP. For instance, if the season is summer, do not describe your wolf walking through the snow, etc. The only exception to this would be if you are playing in a location that is snowy year-round.
- Regarding In Character time, it would take the average wolf approx. two weeks to cross the entire western region to reach the eastern region. But in order to keep the RP flowing, you may simply state your character traveled the vast distance within one post. There is no need to wait any longer than what is necessary.
- When RPing with 3 or more people, there are two ways you may post. The first option is to follow a simple pattern (for example, Player 1 posts, followed by Player 2, Player 3 etc., until everyone has posted once. The pattern then starts over, in that order). Another option is to not follow a specific pattern, but while still waiting for everyone to have a turn. (For example, Player 3 posts, followed by Player 4, Player 1, and finally Player 2. However, the others would have to wait for Player 3 to post again before continuing).
- No killing someone else’s character without their permission.
- If a character dies, then they are dead and there is no coming back. Your character may have a dream or vision in which they see or talk to a dead family member or friend, but the deceased animal can not return to earth.
- Hunts may not always be successful, so please remember to play realistically. A lone wolf does not stand much of a chance taking down a full-grown deer, and wolves hunt best when in groups of three or more. During a hunt, one person can be chosen to RP the prey (as well as their own character), or you may ask a staff member or mod to play the hunted animal for you.
- You can have as many characters as you'd like, but you are expected to play each character often. If you have multiple characters, do not let only one of them be involved in the RP.
- Mating is allowed, but please keep it clean. Mating can be implied, but do not describe the actual event. Take it over PM if you feel you must.
- If your character is wounded, they may not just instantly heal themselves. Depending on the severity of the wound, it may take up to a week for an injury to heal. Or they may visit the Shaman of their choice, who can heal them vastly, but not entirely.
- Please try to use proper grammar and spelling, and be sure to review your posts for any errors. There's a handy spellcheck feature next to the "preview" button that I recommend using.
- RP posts must be at least 5 lines long. Posts below this limit will be allowed on a few occasions, although one-liners will never be accepted.
- Please try to post at least once every two or three days (this does not include OOC posts). If you will be away from the site for awhile, please let the other players know by posting in the Away Book. If you fail to post within the three day limit then your turn will be skipped over. If you continue to post slowly and your turn has been skipped over three times in the same thread then you will be expelled from that particular thread and not allowed to post in there again. If you continue to post in the thread when you have been removed from it then you will be banned from the forum for what we see as an appropriate amount of time. *For those who are short on time and will only be able to post once or twice a week, please contact an admin so that you can be exempt from this rule.
- Do not take characters from film or books. You can base characters off them, but they cannot be related, meet each other, etc. This is to prevent people from being lazy with their characters. Personally, I don't even recommend naming your characters after them, but I won't hold it against anyone who does so.
- Please use a readable font when RPing. For example:
Do not use this sort of font please as it is difficult to read.
Nor this sort of colour as it can hurt peoples' eyes and is tricky to read. - After you are done with reading all of our rules here please check out the chatacter application process. Start by reading the the types of Hyper-Wolves.
Thank you for reading, and enjoy the RP!
